Troubleshooting

No Sound

• Check mute
• Check monitoring (AUDIO MON in Settings, Encoder 8)

No Input

• Check input selection
• Check gain

Clipping

• Reduce track or master volume

Recording stopped when switching screens

• Some screens (USB Browser, Utility sub-screens) cannot stay open during a take. Since v1.2.1 such actions are refused with an on-screen error while recording — the red border around the screen shows that a take is rolling.

MIDI loops, doubled notes, or a device hears nothing

• Notes repeat or hang, or MIDI goes round between two devices: set THRU to OTHERS or OFF on the device that echoes MIDI back (Manual MIDI routing), or switch MIDI MON off
• A device gets no notes or no clock: look for [ROUTE] next to it under UTILITY → MIDI → DEVICE. Its ROUTE page shows what it gets; RESET (Track Button 8) restores the defaults

Waveform does not match the audio

• Use REBUILD WAVEFORM under UTILITY → DEBUG to re-read the waveform overview from the tape (new in v1.2.1).

WEAK CHARGER message

Units from the second production batch watch their supply. WEAK CHARGER appears once (never while recording or playing) when the voltage from the USB-C charger dropped too low under load, or when the last switch-off or a refused switch-on was caused by it (since v1.2.4-SNAPSHOT). Use a USB-C PD charger that delivers 9 V at 18 W or more, and a short, good cable. Phone chargers that only deliver 5 V cannot run the Track8.

Reporting a problem

• Your firmware version is shown under UTILITY → DEBUG (since v1.1.3)
• LOGS → USB on the same screen copies the device logs to a USB stick — attach them to your report
